What is it?
Summary
A national, virtual design & prototyping competition for students.
We’ll fly out the finalists to NYC for a weekend of bonding, intimate design crits with top industry designers, & private deep dive workshops with our sponsors.
Every team that finishes is eligible for a call with Naheel Jawaid, founder of SVSD, focussed on how to make their project industry-level.

Eligibility
Teams of 2-3.
You must all be in college (& located) in the US or Canada.
What is the criteria?
Evaluation
We’ll give you a prompt and ask you to design & prototype your solution.
We’ll also ask you to record a 5-7min max presentation sharing how you explored & solved product/interaction problems in your project.
You’ll be evaluated on how you identify the right problems to explore, your depth of thinking in exploring those problems, and the final craft of your solution.
What is the prize?
Recognition
Teams who are finalists will be flown out to NYC (flights + hotel are on us).
The weekend will be planned out for you to bond with the other finalists, jam directly with top industry designers, and participate in exclusive deep dive workshops from designers from our sponsors.
The weekend will mirror how Naheel runs retreats in SVSD, where he brings surprise guests from everywhere like OpenAI, Apple, Anthropic, and more to push students towards excellence in thinking and craft.
Our goal is to make sure this weekend serves as an fun and accelerating force in your design career.
